Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about the GenieTools Image Resizer.

Is this image resizer really free?
Yes, 100% free with no limits. You can resize as many images as you want — no account, no credits, no hidden fees.
Does resizing reduce image quality?
Resizing down (making an image smaller) maintains quality very well. Resizing up (enlarging) may lose some sharpness as pixels must be interpolated. Always start from the highest-resolution original you have.
What formats are supported?
PNG, JPG, and WebP are supported for both input and output. The output file format matches your original image.
What's the maximum file size?
Up to 20 MB per image. Output dimensions up to 10,000 × 10,000 pixels are supported. Very large outputs may be slower on older devices.
Can I resize without losing aspect ratio?
Yes — toggle the aspect ratio lock button (the padlock icon between the width and height fields). When locked, changing one dimension automatically scales the other to match.
Does it work on mobile?
Yes. GenieTools works on any modern browser including mobile Safari and Chrome on iPhone and Android. No app installation needed.
Is my image uploaded to a server?
No. All resizing happens locally in your browser using the Canvas API. Your images never leave your device — 100% private.
Can I batch resize images?
Currently the tool processes one image at a time. Batch resizing for multiple files is coming soon.
