Editorial Policy

1. What we publish

Our core coverage is intentionally narrow: browser-based image editing, background removal, resizing, cropping, compression, conversion, text overlays, and related workflow guidance for creators, sellers, marketers, and teams that need fast, privacy-friendly tools.

We avoid publishing broad, low-context content outside this focus just to chase search traffic. If a topic does not help our audience complete an image workflow, it does not belong on the site.

2. How we test tools and workflows

Before we publish or update a guide, we test the relevant workflow ourselves. That usually includes:

• ✓Running the tool in current desktop browsers and checking that the page works without account creation.
• ✓Testing multiple file types, dimensions, and file sizes to confirm the stated limits and export behavior.
• ✓Reviewing the quality of results for common real-world tasks such as product cutouts, social-media resizing, and compression for web performance.
• ✓Checking that the content on the page matches what the tool actually does today.

3. How we write guides

Our guides are written to help a reader finish a job, not just land on a page. We aim to answer the actual next questions a user has after clicking a result: which tool to use, what settings matter, what output format to choose, and what common mistakes to avoid.

We prefer first-hand instructions, concrete examples, and practical tradeoffs over filler copy. If a section does not help the reader make a better decision or complete the task faster, we cut it.

4. Updates and freshness

We review content when a tool changes, when a platform requirement changes, or when we discover that a page could mislead readers. We do not change dates just to make pages appear fresh. When a guide says it was updated, that means we made a substantive review or revision.

5. Monetization and disclosure

GenieTools is funded primarily through advertising. That lets us keep the tools free without requiring account creation or paid credits for basic use.

Advertising does not buy editorial placement. We do not sell rankings inside our guides, and we avoid publishing made-for-ads pages that add no meaningful value beyond the ad itself.

6. Accuracy, corrections, and feedback

If you find a mistake, outdated step, or misleading claim, we want to know. Reader feedback is one of the ways we improve both the product and the documentation around it.
